Every child should enjoy learning and want to continue learning throughout life.

Every child should be able to adapt to a changing world.

Every child should be healthy, safe and able to contribute to the society around them.

Our vision for primary education is that all children will be offered a positive and attractive personalised learning experience though creative teaching, an exciting curriculum, innovative learning facilities and an inclusive environment.

Our primary schools should be at the heart of their communities.

They will:

- be high quality learning environments that support personalised learning for all

- be equipped with learning facilities appropriate for the 21st century

- work in partnership with parents and carers to support children's learning and well-being

- provide access to extended provision for pupils and their families throughout the year

- reflect the diversity of the communities they serve - through the curriculum they offer, and the profile of staff and governors

- work in partnership with providers of children's services to promote children's health and well-being

- ensure children's overall achievement and attainment meets or exceeds national expectations.

All comments will go to the Primary Education Vision Steering Group. The finalised Vision will be available online and in print.
