Conference: Every Parent Matters

Monday 02 July 2007 - 9.00am to 4.00pm at
The Barnsbury Centre, Offord Road, Islington , N1 1QG
Closing date for registration in Friday 15 June 2007.
Parents and the home environments they create are the single most important
factor in shaping children’s lives. So the question for those working with
children and young people - in schools, children’s centres and elsewhere - is:
how can we best support parents in the difficult task of raising children?
This is the topic under discussion at the Every Parent Matters in Islington
conference that Islington Council and CEA@Islington are organising in July.
The keynote speaker will be Honor Rhodes, Director of Development at the
Family and Parenting Institute, with workshops covering different areas of
supporting parents.
This conference will provide the perfect opportunity to find what works and
take some fresh ideas back to the workplace. It will also provide a forum for
discussing Islington’s strategy for parenting support.
The conference is aimed at leaders and decision makers in schools, children’s
centres, health and community organisations, and senior practitioners working
with parents and carers.
