Islington Anti-Bullying Poll 2007
This year national Anti-Bullying Week is from Monday 19th - Friday 23rd
November. In Islington CEA@Islington are marking the week with an anonymous,
online survey of pupil's views on bullying. They are asking as many schools as
possible to take part.
The results will be used to gather positive peer pressure in order to strive
towards our goal of an Islington Bully-Free Zone. The information gathered
will inform awareness raising campaigns against bullying by letting young
people know what their peers really think of bullies. The survey will also
provide information on what types of bullying most affect our young people,
where it happens and what they would like done about it.
Schools are being asked to pledge their support for this campaign by
allocating curriculum time for pupils to take part in this important survey.
Islington's Anti-Bullying Co-ordinator Finn Mackay said "there is often a
focus on young people who bully, in our poll we want to hear the views of the
majority who don't so we can focus on all the positive attitudes held by our
children and young people".
Schools who have already pledged to take part in the survey include Drayton
Park Primary, Moreland Primary, St Aloysius College and Mount Carmel. There is
still time for more schools to pledge to take part.
Schools can register their interest by filling out the fax back pledge form on
this website and returning it to the Anti-Bullying Co-ordinator.
