CEA@Islington - who we are

Who we are

CEA@Islington’s contract to provide the full range of schools' services to the London Borough of Islington was renewed for a further five years in April 2006. The contract covers the provision of a range of education services to schools and pupils, including advice, support and training for school governors.

CEA@Islington is part of Cambridge Education Limited (CEL), which provide management services and professional support to schools and LEAs. CEL became part of the Mott MacDonald Group in March 2000.

CEA@Islington is accountable to Islington Council for its performance. The contract sets out a range of performance indicators which are monitored on a termly and annual basis. Key performance indicators include GCSE results, Key Stage 2 results, exclusions, attendance, statutory duties, strategic plans and policies and surveys and customer feedback.

"The task facing the LEA has been a formidable one, but to a remarkable extent has been successfully accomplished... Arrangements are working well. There is a real consensus around both the urgent need to raise standards, the strategy to do this, and each parties responsibilities within the new arrangements. The clear division of roles has focused minds and energies... The tide has turned in Islington." LEA Inspection Report, Ofsted, 2001.
