CEA - our Chartermark
CEA@Islington was awarded a government "Chartermark for Excellence in the
Public Service" in 2002 and this was renewed for a further 3 years at the end
of 2005. CEA@Islington was the first, and is still the only, complete
education authority to receive this award.
Eleanor Schooling, CEA@Islington's Director of Education Services, said:
"The achievement of a Chartermark for excellence in customer service is a
wonderful public acknowledgement of the efforts of all the staff of
CEA@Islington in supporting the improvement of schools and raising standards.
CEA@Islington is clearly working in partnership with schools, LBI and other
partners in education to deliver a high quality service for the benefit of
pupils across the borough."
What is a Chartermark?
Chartermark is a major part of the Government's drive to modernise public
services. It is unique amongst quality schemes because organisations are
judged on their results - the service the customer actually receives. It shows
that they put customers first, and demonstrates both to customers and other
organisations just how high standards in the public service can be.
