  • Presented workshop at EMAS conference
  • Established terms of reference
  • Established new leaders for group

January 2004

  • Organised successful away day
  • Ongoing co-ordination of half-termly meetings to support staff
  • Raised profile of group through publication of posters - sent out to all schools
  • Provided formal consultation to CEA@Islington Personnel regarding the collation of ethnicity data on staff
  • Completed 'History Timeline'* poster for display in classrooms

January 2005

  • Organised successful personal and professional development weekend
  • Launched BEN choral group

February 2005

  • Presented history 'Timeline'* at EMAS conference

* The History Timeline was originated by Paul Obinna to visually contextualise the relationship between African and
European civilisation. BEN has worked with Paul to develop a version of the timeline for displaying in Islington
classrooms. BEN members are now working on related curriculum resources.
