Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, including Islington Council. Although CEA@Islington is a private company, we have chosen to comply with the Freedom of Information Act and provide access to the documents we hold.

The Act comes into force in two stages. The first stage requires that the council prepare and publish a publication scheme. The second stage gives people the right to ask the council to provide them with information.

The publication scheme is here to make sure that the majority of information we produce is made available to you without you needing to make a specific request to us for it. It is our intention that the scheme will encourage the publication of more information than we are required to publish under existing legislation, and to develop a culture of greater openness.

Many of the documents we publish are already available to download on this site. Please check the " Available documents" page before making a freedom of information request.
