Appeals

If you have been refused a place for your child at a school you applied for, you have the right to appeal against the decision. An independent panel will hear your appeal and their decision is binding for both Cambridge Education@ Islington (on behalf of Islington LA) and the school. The panel will be made up of people who have experience in education and people eligible to be lay members (people without personal experience of school management or the provision of education).

For further information on the appeals procedure for Islington community schools, please contact Tel: 0207 527 7251.

If you want to appeal for a Voluntary Aided School (Church of Foundation) or an Academy, you need to contact the school in question for their appeal form and full details on their appeal procedures.
