Application for transfer from primary to secondary school in September 2008
You should only complete the Islington paper application form if you (and your
child) live in Islington. The form will be sent to your home address in early
September. If you prefer to make your application online, you will be able to
do so from 3 September 2007. You can use the
London online system, regardless of which London borough you live in. Some
neighboring counties are also part of the online system. If you are not sure,
please contact your
home local authority for more information. You are advised to read the
booklet 'Moving On – A step in the right direction' before completing the form
or going online, this gives full details of the application process and
criteria used for allocating places in Islington schools/academies. If you
wish to apply for a secondary school outside Islington you should do so by
naming them on your application form. You should also contact the school
direct, or the Local Authority to which the school belongs, in order to obtain
information on their specific admission criteria and if a supplementary form
needs to be completed (usually for Church schools or schools with specialist
criteria only).
You are invited to list your preferred secondary schools in the order that you
prefer them. You are strongly advised to name up to six schools on this form.
Failure to do so will restrict the ability to offer you a school place.
Only one application form is completed regardless of where the schools are
located that you want to apply for. The only exception to this are In
dependant fee paying schools.
The headteacher of your child’s primary school, or the School Admissions
Section at CEA@Islington Tel: 020 7527 5516, will be able to offer you further
guidance and advice when completing this form.
If you have any queries about the secondary admissions process, please phone:
