CEA@Islington led the successful bid that secured Islington in the second wave
of Building Schools for the Future scheme. Aiming to sign contracts in 2007,
Islington is now planning how it will rebuild or remodel all nine secondary
schools with the £150 million investment.

Islington's Best Value Performance Indicator Survey report, conducted in April
2004 by MORI, showed that 48% of residents were satisfied with the Education
service compared to just 26% in 2000. The level amongst Islington users was
greater with 73% overall satisfaction, well above the London average of 63%.

education authority as "failing", but by 2001 it said: "The tide has turned in
Islington".
