Education development plan
All local education authorities (LEA
's) must promote high standards of development by pupils and schools alike.
Schools have the primary responsibility for raising standards and have a
statutory duty to set targets.
Islington's
Education Development Plan details the local school improvement strategy
and how it plans to monitor, challenge, and support schools - it also includes
out of school learning support.
In Islington, CEA@Islington were responsible for preparing the plan, which is
subject to approval from the Department of Education and Skills (
DfES).
