EiC Zones

An EiC Action Zone is a cluster or group of schools working in partnership to raise the aspirations and achievements of all pupils. The Islington Zones are supported financially through partnerships with the DfES Excellence in Cities Program, the Fischer Family Trust, and the Dame Alice Owen Foundation.

Each zone designs a specific program that focuses on raising standards of achievement in key areas, such as thinking skills, literacy, numeracy, information and communications technology, personal and social development and professional development. Zones focus on the professional development of teachers and other school staff, as well as working directly with pupils and teachers.

There are four EiC Zones in Islington: North Islington, Kings Cross, EPIC and New River Partnership.
