Services Provided
Cardfields provides a quality learning experience in social, residential and
environmental education for as many pupils in the London Borough of Islington
as possible.
The Centre ensures that work undertaken relates to the National Curriculum
with the direct aim of raising pupil achievement within the Borough, and that
activities offered are appropriate for the various needs of the visiting
schools and groups.
Cardfields offers a unique residential service to Play and Youth,
Neighbourhood and Community groups from the Borough.
Cardfields offers the following types of visits:
Residential visits with full board for term time school journeys, these may be
full or half week visits.
Weekend visits with full board for school groups.
Semi–catered weekend visits for training groups.
Self–catered and self-managed visits during weekends and holiday periods for
schools, Play and Youth service and other organised community groups.
Day visits for school groups.
Residential and Day visit conference facilities – fully catered.
Schools using Cardfields will be entitled to the following:
Curriculum support, comprising help with time-tabling with a minimum
commitment of 2.5 days per 5 day visit, direct teaching by centre staff and
access to all the Centre’s project and activity offers.
Pre-trip planning discussions with school staff.
Booking for transport, visits, activities etc.
Use of Centre equipment, resources and facilities.
Follow up materials for pupils where requested.

Cardfields undertakes:
To meet the full schedules of service as outlined above.
To ensure that the premises and all equipment and materials meet required
safety standards.
To ensure that all Centre staff, whether permanent or seasonal, hold
qualifications appropriate to activities they are required to lead.
To make available a range of information and resources relevant for school
journeys to Cardfields.
To monitor school trips to Cardfields through regular consideration of
comments from visiting schools.
