School improvement service
Welcome to the home page of the School Improvement Service. Our service
comprises of a number of sections who give support and advice in various ways
to schools within the borough. Our staff are currently based at The Barnsbury
Centre, but will be returning later in 2008 to Cambridge Education's Laycock
Street offices. The Cardfields
Environmental Study Centre is also part of SIS.

Schools Plus:
Every Child Matters inextricably links the standards and
well-being agendas. To back this up Cambridge Education @ Islington has
established a dedicated Schools Plus team, bringing together the
Arts & Sports, Learning Plus ,
Healthy Schools and Extended Schools
teams, all with a proven track record across the brough. Headed by David
Wainwright this now sits alongside the Primary and Secondary teams within the
School Improvement Service.
The fundamental aim of Schools Plus is to provide a co-ordinated service
focusing on those activities that provide a rich school experience, and that
support children and young people to lead safe, happy, healthy and succesful
lives.
