SSCO: Frequently asked questions

We have been compiling a number of Frequently Asked Questions and tried to provide clear and precise answers to them. If you can think of other questions that would be useful to include on this web page, please do not hesitate to call 020 7527 5829

Q. What is the Yellow Booklet and why is it so important?
A. The Primary/Secondary PE & Sports Development Programmes (Yellow booklets) contain vital information such as SSCO contact details, a calendar of activities and training opportunities happening across the borough and a map of the borough's partnership.

Q. What are PLT Supply days and how many can I claim for?
A. There are 12 supply cover days paid for by the SSCO programme to release Primary Link Teachers/PE Co-ordinators and enable them to attend professional development training courses, competitions, or to carry out PE related work within the school.

Q. How do I claim for supply costs when I use time for my Primary Link Teacher (PLT) work? E.g. attending a sporting competition, teacher workshop or completing PE work at school.
A. Your School Sport Coordinator (SSCo) fills in a PLT day claim form at the end of each term. You should let them know when you are intending to use a day and make sure it is allowed first. Once the day has been agreed with your SSCo then they will claim on your behalf.

Q. Do we have to stick with the activity on the original Big Lottery Fund Activity Plan for after school funded programmes?
A. You can only change the activity offered if your SSCo agrees that the original planned activity cannot be offered for a valid reason. The replacement activity will have to target the same group of students, with the same ages.
