What is the NRF Floor Targets Project?
The NRF Floor Targets Project is additional to and integrated into other
CEA@Islington school support systems.
Funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, Teacher Coaches and Learning Coaches
work in direct support to pupils, students and staff in schools. Support is in
the form of blocks of time, with Project staff working in partnership with
schools, working with teachers to enhance learning in order to achieve.
The NRF Project is managed by Karen Ainley, Project Manager. One of the groups
to whom the Project is accountable is the NRF Steering Committee. This
committee meets termly and includes four Head Teachers. The Project is also
accountable to the Islington Strategic Partnership, pupils, staff,
headteachers and governors as well as to CEA@Islington staff.
Project staff are currently working in five secondary and five Primary schools.
Whilst the Project is focused on raising the official floor targets, the
integrated work of NRF staff and their partner teachers in schools brings an
enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ culture to enhance the learning of pupils and
students.
The Project is funded until March 2006.
