COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION SERVICE AREA - OUTREACH SERVICE

The Bridge School & Training Centre offers an Outreach Service (free of charge) to all Islington schools providing consultation, advice and training for those who work in mainstream schools with pupils who have autism, severe and or profound learning difficulties.

The Bridge Outreach Service offers:

•         Consultation and advice to staff regarding pupils with ASD, SLD or PMLD.
•         Observation of classroom practice and advice on materials and resources from skilled and experienced
        practitioners
•         Specialised training
•         Support for both teachers and teaching assistants.

Advice on:
•         Curriculum access and differentiation.
•         Writing and implementing IEPs.
•         Managing challenging behaviour.
•         Helping pupils to develop both communication and social skills.
•         Pupil induction and transition.

The Bridge School and Training Centre also offers a range of training courses to teachers, teaching assistants and other professional working with pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties and autism (SLD, PMLD and ASD). Some courses are held at the Barnsbury Centre, but increasingly, at our purpose-built Training Centre based at the Primary Department of the school, 251, Hungerford Road, N7 9LD
