Education Library Service
The Education Library Service provides resources to support and extend the
curriculum and to stimulate children's learning. We offer schools access to an
extensive collection of high quality, relevant and up-to-date resources,
including books, videos, costumes and artefacts. These are available for early
years providers, primary, special and secondary schools and other individual
customers on a service agreement or charged basis. Using ELS ensures that
schools have easy access to a cost-effective way of providing teachers,
children and students with exciting resources that can be changed regularly.
Support for the wider reading agenda and the development of reading
communities in schools is integral to the work of the service. We work with
schools to look at their own resources organisation and libraries and provide
advisory and hands-on support, together with training for primary and
secondary school library staff and volunteers.
Full details of the service can be found on the
Library Service website, which gives access to the library catalogue and
to online ordering.
Information and curriculum resources about artefacts can be found on
Object Lessons, the libray’s NOF-funded site.
