During the academic year 2003 - 2004 CEA@Islington's Hazel House convened a
series of meetings that brought together colleagues active in developing,
promoting, participating in and co-ordinating a range of initiatives to
support primary to secondary transfer and transition in Islington.
Over the course of the year, colleagues supplied written details of activities
they were involved in. We found the "
Five Bridges to Success" model (originally presented by Gray, Galton and
Ruddock in their 1999 research) useful, and some people have submitted their
information under these headings, ie: bureaucratic, social, curriculum,
pedagogy and the management of learning.
