Additional information

  • For parents with English as an additional language we can usually arrange for an interpreter to be present when meeting with you.
  • EPs are trained to be aware of issues relating to race, culture, language and gender.
  • At meetings with parents, EPs will wear name badges which clearly identifies them as members of CEA@Islington.
  • We will try to use language that is easy to read and understand and where complex or technical words and terms are used they will be explained.
  • Where appropriate we liaise with other professionals within Education, the Health Service and Social Services.
  • EPs respect the need for confidentiality. They will only pass on information where permission has been given, except in exceptional circumstances where there are serious child safety issues.
  • We sometimes need to employ temporary staff to undertake work with you. Where this happens feedback is provided to the school EP to ensure consistency.
  • Feedback for improvement of our service is always welcome and can be made in writing or via telephone.
  • We provide a copy of our complaints leaflet to anyone that wishes to complain or comment about a service.

If you would like a copy of our full service standards, please contact us.
