Inclusion Advisory Service

Here you will find access to the resources, referrals and other information about the service areas within the Inclusion Advisory Service.

What we do

The Inclusion Advisory Service is a range of centrally funded services to support inclusion. The service consists of a team of experienced staff with a range of SEN qualifications and expertise. Our advisory teachers offer support and advice to schools, with the aim of overcoming barriers to achievement and inclusion. We work closely with other sections within CEA@Islington, and with other agencies, such as the Health Service. Support is provided in the following areas :

  • Literacy Difficulties, including Specific Learning Difficulties/ Dyslexia
  • Language and Communication Difficulties
  • Hearing
  • Vision
  • Inclusion
  • Teaching Assistants
  • Whittington Medical PRU & Home Tuition Service

We work with whole schools, SENCOs, class teachers, Teaching Assistants, pupils, parents and a range of other professionals.

The purpose of this booklet is to provide schools and teachers with some basic information about the service and ensure that schools know how to get support.

We welcome feedback from you about the impact of our work on schools' practice. We work in partnership with you to evaluate the effect of our support to schools on children's access to the curriculum, and on their progress. We do this through our records of visits to schools, discussions with you, monitoring of children's progress towards their IEP targets and your evaluations of our in-service training.
