Prior Weston's temporary home wins design award

The Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) does not usually consider temporary buildings for its prestigious design awards. However, such was the quality of the building produced for Islington by architects Penoyre & Prasad that RIBA made an exception.

Described by Riba judges as "a triumph of good sense", the building is designed to be recycled when it is replaced by the permanent school at Golden Lane campus in three years.

Cllr James Kempton said: "Islington children deserve the best and it's pleasing to have our efforts recognised by this internationally prestigious award."
