Samuel Rhodes Achievers' Day
What's happening to Islington's special schools?
The Council's policy is to transform its special schools into centres of
excellence, to provide first class services to children in the school and
outreach services to all schools in the borough.
We also want to provide accommodation fit for the 21st century and co-locate
Islington's special schools onto mainstream school sites.
Old fashioned and unsuitable accommodation will be replaced by modern,
custom-designed facilities. There will be greater opportunities for students
to benefit from high quality formal and informal education during and after
school, at weekends and holidays, alongside their peers.
